In 1977 while he was working on a project searching for extraterrestrial intelligence at the Big Ear Radio Telescope at the Ohio State University, Jerry Ehman discovered what became known as the Wow! Signal, a strong narrowband radio signal which appeared to come from outside our solar system. Many have spent years trying to find the signal again and determine what caused it, but it remains an unsolved mystery and an avid interest of alien enthusiasts.

TTM Success - Former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke

Bob Hawke is an Australian politician who served as Prime Minister from 1983-1991. While in office the Hawke government created Medicare and Landcare, formed APEC, introduced the Family Assistance Scheme, announced Advance Australia Fair as the official national anthem, and initiated pension schemes for all workers.

While in university, he also set a world record for beer drinking when he skulled a yard of ale in 11 seconds. In his memoirs, Hawke suggested that this single feat may have contributed to his political success more than any other, by endearing him to a voting population with a strong beer culture.

TTM Partial Success - Serial Host Sarah Koenig

Sarah Koenig is a Peabody Award winning journalist and radio producer who serves as the host and executive producer of the acclaimed podcast Serial as well as a producer and occasional contributor to the radio series This American Life. In 2015 TIME named her one of 'The 100 Most Influential People'.

She sent my photo back unsigned but included a handwritten letter she had signed explaining that she doesn't sign autographs. Still nice to get a personal response that includes her signature.

TTM Success - Charlie Brill and Mitzi McCall

Charlie Brill and Mitzi McCall a husband and wife comedy duo. Arguably their most famous performance was on the February 9, 1964 episode of The Ed Sullivan Show where they appeared with The Beatles in their first American TV appearance.

TTM Success - Swimer Jordan Wilimovsky

Jordan Wilimovsky is an American swimmer who specializes in open water swimming. He won the Gold medal in the 10 km open water event at the 2015 World Championships. He will be competing for the United States at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

In Person Success - Alex Trebek

Alex Trebek is a gameshow host best known for been the host of the 'Jeopardy!' since 1984 and holds the Guinness World Record for the most gameshow episodes hosted by an individual. He has made a number of guest appearances on TV shows and movies portraying himself including 'The X-Files', 'The Golden Girls', and 'The Simpsons'.

He was in my city for a charitable event and while here I got him to sign an autograph and pose for a photo.
