In 1977 while he was working on a project searching for extraterrestrial intelligence at the Big Ear Radio Telescope at the Ohio State University, Jerry Ehman discovered what became known as the Wow! Signal, a strong narrowband radio signal which appeared to come from outside our solar system. Many have spent years trying to find the signal again and determine what caused it, but it remains an unsolved mystery and an avid interest of alien enthusiasts.
