Philippe de Gaulle is a retired Admiral of the French Navy and a political figure who served as a French Senator from 1986-2004. during WWII he participated in the liberation of Paris and personally carried the Order to Surrender to the German soldiers occupying the French National Assembly. He finished his military career in 1982 as Inspector General of the French Navy. He is also the last surviving child of iconic French President General Charles de Gaulle.
I sent him 2 photos of him with his father, General de Gaulle, and he signed them both on the back with short messages including where both of the photos were taken. He returned them to me in my SASE in just 16 days.
